Real Time Vehicle Tracking

The Mobile Data Computing truck system comes equipped with a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver and antenna used to calculate the truck’s Latitude and Longitude every second. The exact position of the delivery vehicle can be calculated and displayed on a map on the truck’s touch screen. If the vehicle MDC unit has a real time communications system (cellular or satellite), the vehicle’s current location can be transmitted back to the office and displayed on a workstation map.

This process of transmitting all the trucks’ latest locations on a map back at the office is known as Automatic Vehicle Locator or AVL. The program that plots the truck locations on the map is the MoblTec AVL Tracker Program that runs on workstations in the office.

Real Time Viewing – Shows where your vehicles are right now

The AVL Tracker Program is constantly updated in real-time to show the latest location of the trucks.

Features include:

Street Address - Click on an icon to display vehicle data and street address.
Vehicle Count - Shows the count of all vehicles in the current view.
Zoom Control - Zoom In or Out.
“Max Zoom” In and
“Max Zoom” Out.
Color Coding - The vehicle icons are color coded according to the vehicle type. Filters available - “Show me only the bobtail trucks”.
Vehicle ID/Route ID - Above each vehicle Icon.

Map now

Display a Route - Select a truck from a list to show the route’s remaining stops with names above icons.
Inventory on Board - Click on the icon to see the fuel on board before assigning a “will call” to this truck.

Playback – Shows where your trucks went yesterday and how long they were there.

Shows the streets taken by the driver
Shows the arrival and departure times
Click on the AVL “arrow” to see speed
Playback one transaction at a time on the map to replay the day’s activities
